64 paddlers from 19 clubs lined up to compete in Race 2 of the Pacific Coast Marathon Series at Varsity Lakes.
15 boats line up in the Long 18 km distance, 31 boats in the Middle 12 km distance and 10 boats for the Short 6 km distance.
A couple of young guns Daniel Mole & Lew Bassett shot off setting a pace that had them out in front on the 1st lap.
As the race progressed paddlers settled into groups working together, washing riding and finding their racing rhythm again.
It was great to see so many people coming off the water and had put their all into their race.
