Paddle Queensland is proud to celebrate the outstanding performances of the Queensland State Team at the 2026 Paddle Australia Canoe Sprint National Championships, held at Champion Lakes in Western Australia.
Across five days of racing, Queensland athletes showcased determination, sportsmanship and high-performance racing across junior, senior and masters categories, delivering strong results against Australia’s best athletes and clubs.
The Championships highlighted the continued growth of canoe sprint in Queensland, with athletes achieving personal bests, national podium performances and selection into Australian representative teams for upcoming international campaigns.
Paddle Queensland also acknowledges the exceptional leadership and support provided by Queensland State Team Coaches Jason Keating, Julian Norton-Smith and Matthew Ingerman throughout the campaign. Their commitment to athlete development, team culture and performance continues to play a vital role in strengthening Queensland paddlesports and supporting athlete pathways toward Brisbane 2032.
2026 Queensland Canoe Sprint State Team

Queensland athletes competed across a wide range of events including K1, K2, K4 and canoe disciplines over 200m, 500m and 1000m distances, with many athletes progressing through heats, semi-finals and A Finals against elite national competition.
Beyond the results, the Championships showcased the strong sense of camaraderie and team spirit within the Queensland team, with athletes supporting one another both on and off the water throughout the week.
