Important GCBF grant information

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) is Queensland’s largest one-off community grants program and distributes approximately $60 million each year to not-for-profit community groups to enhance their capacity to provide services, leisure activities and economic opportunities.

Over the past two years multiple extreme weather events have impacted many Queensland communities. To assist these communities, the GCBF have combined rounds 114 and 115 to provide a super-sized GCBF $100K Disaster Recovery Round. The round is now open and will close on 15 July 2022.

Disaster Recovery Round Funding Limits

  • Organisations and community groups impacted by a natural disaster in the last two years can apply for a grant of up to $100,000 for items or facilities damaged by these disasters.
  • Organisations and community groups that were planning to apply for other non-recovery related projects are still welcome to do so, however funding will be limited to the standard grant amount of up to $35,000.

Eligibility

  • All applications are assessed for eligibility against the GCBF funding guidelines.
  • The one round exclusion period is being waived for this round only. This means if your group has received a grant that is not yet acquitted you have until 15 July to complete the acquittal process. You must complete the acquittal and receive your confirmation email from GCBF by 15 July to be eligible.

Insurance Excess

In further great news, insurance excess fees have been added as an eligible item for this round only. If you are successful in receiving a grant in the disaster recovery round, the insurance excess payment must be made after the grant approval date.  If you have already submitted your application and wish to include insurance excess, you may email us at cbf@justice.qld.gov.au and ask to make an amendment to your application.

We encourage community organisations to apply in this round and look forward to supporting the recovery and rebuilding of Queensland communities affected by natural disaster.
