Where to Start
Recreation
Paddle Queensland Inc is responsible for the management and development of various paddle sports, through events, clubs, recreation, and related education. They have been delivering these types of activities through local councils for over 15 years and have established long term relationships with Brisbane City Council, Ipswich City Council, Logan City Council and Moreton Bay Regional Council.
We run a variety of recreational programs for local Councils, run by qualified guides with all canoeing/kayaking equipment provided. Please visit our Events Calendar and use the filter option for Recreation events.
Participation
Paddle Queensland Inc clubs have a variety of paddling activities to support participation in paddlesports. Our clubs cater for recreation for those not wanting to compete, to those wishing to compete for a bit more excitement at a club level. The environment influences the craft and activities offered at each club. Check out the clubs for more information on come and try sessions and club activities. If you would like to join a club please select the Join now option.
Development
Paddle Queensland Inc has development opportunities across many disciplines. Not all lead to the Olympics and Paralympics, all have an opportunity to compete at a State, National or World level depending on the participants motivation for competition.
Our clubs support with programs, coaching and competitions to ensure ongoing opportunities for participants seeking to get involved in paddlesports with more than just a ‘pass the time’ focus.
Paddle Queensland Inc is guided by the Paddle Australia FTEM pathway for development within the Olympic/Paralympic disciplines (Sprint/Slalom/Paracanoe).
Currently, Queensland only offers development in Sprint and Paracanoe due to the facilities available.
