14 Beaches Ocean Race

On Saturday the 12th of August over 200 paddlers from around Australia converged on the picturesque beaches of the Gold Coast to take part in the largest Gold Coast Ocean Racing event in recent times.

While the morning was calm and with light winds predicted for the race, come race time Huey did not disappoint the field and blessed paddlers with amazing downwind conditions of 10 – 15 knot North East winds to aid paddlers along the 15 km course from Kurrawa to Bilinga.

First across the line was Craig Campbell on a SUP Foil who completed the course in only 40 minutes averaging over 20 km per hour.

The first Male and Female Surf Ski paddlers to cross the line and take out the 2023 Paddle Queensland Ocean Racing Championship Trophy was Tom Norton with a time of 59:07 and Electra Outram with a time of 1:04.

Congratulations to the 14 Beaches Ocean Race Overall Class Winners.
