Paddle Queensland continues to work with CleanCo to communicate with paddlers regarding planned outages for hydro assets on the Tully and Barron Rivers.
CleanCo has advised us that the works at Kareeya Power Station are currently on track to be completed on 3 September 2021. This is great news for local paddlers who are looking forward to the date when the hydro station ‘turns on’ again on the 4th of September 2021.
We also take this opportunity to remind paddlers of the Barron Gorge power station outages planned between:
- 2-15 September 2021
- 29 November – 6 December 2021
Note: Although the power stations will not be generating during the identified periods, some water will continue to flow in the rivers as a result of natural inflows from tributaries and any required water releases from upstream dams.
