Race the Bay
Sunshine Coast SUP Club in partnership with Paddle Queensland proudly presents the 2026 Race the Bay.
This two day event is the club’s premier event and the final round of the 2026 Sunshine Coast Boardsports Tri Series, between 4670 SUP Club and the BrisSUP Club. The race weekend comprises of a Battle of the Paddle (BOP) tech event on Saturday afternoon at Mooloolaba Beach and the Race the Bay main distance races on Sunday morning.
Saturday’s social BOP tech event is held at Mooloolaba Beach. This event will be over 3 laps of an approx. 1 km course with multiple buoy turns, beach entries and exits through waves and a short board carry.
Sunday’s main event flatwater distance race course offers a 4km short distance course (1 x 4 km lap) and an 8 km long distance course (2 x 4 km laps). The courses will be for those who want to challenge themselves to experience the fun of paddling in Mooloolaba Bay.
Event Information:
1. Any paddler can paddle a SUP (up to 14 ft) in this event.
2. Each paddler must register separately
3. Early Bird Rates: Non-Member $90, Member $50
4. Standard Entry Rates: Non-Member $110, Member $70
5. No late or on the day entries will be accepted after entries close (no exceptions)
6. To gain points in the Tri Series and qualify for the PQ State Team, you must be a member of a PQ SUP Club.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
By entering you agree to:
1. Always having your leash attached to you and your craft while on the water
2. Carry plenty of water/fluids/snacks for the duration of the paddle
3. Abide by all rules of the event, directions from the race director and support crews
