Pacific Lutheran College Crowned 2026 Paddle Queensland School Sprint Champions

School spirit, fast racing and plenty of smiles were on display at the 2026 Paddle Queensland School Sprint Championships, held at the Lake Samsonvale Water Sports Association on Tuesday, 8 September.

Students from across Queensland came together for a full day of sprint racing, with paddlers competing across 500m singles and doubles racing and 200m singles events. From young paddlers experiencing school competition for the first time through to experienced junior athletes, the Championships provided an opportunity to race, learn, represent their school and enjoy being part of Queensland’s growing paddling community.

Across three blocks of competition, students demonstrated speed, determination and great sportsmanship, with plenty of close racing and enthusiastic support from teammates, teachers, coaches and families.

Thank You

Paddle Queensland extends a big thank you to the Lake Samsonvale Water Sports Association for once again providing a fantastic venue and supporting the delivery of the Championships.

We also gratefully acknowledge the City of Moreton Bay for its continued support of Paddle Queensland and school paddling. This support helps provide opportunities for young people to get active, experience paddlesports and represent their schools in a fun and welcoming competition environment.

A special thank you also goes to our officials, volunteers, teachers, team managers, coaches and parents. Events like the School Sprint Championships simply wouldn’t happen without the many people who give their time to support our young paddlers.

Most importantly, thank you to every student who got on the water and had a go. Whether you won a medal, achieved a personal best, tried a new craft or simply enjoyed racing alongside your schoolmates, we hope you left Lake Samsonvale excited about your next paddling adventure.
