It is my pleasure to provide the above report on the following events held at Coomera Lake over the weekend of the 8th and 9th of October.
With windy and overcast conditions three championships were run:
- 2022 Canoe Marathon State Championships
- 2022 Canoe Marathon School Championships
- 2022 APSU SUP Long Distance Championships
The Championships would not be possible without the support of our partners the Gold Coast City Council and Southport Yacht Club, our volunteers and officials Sue O’Rourke, Deb Wright, De-Anne Kelly, Sheree Sharples, Donna Wilson, Angus Sharples, James Sharples, Suzie Graham, Grant Cook, Jason Kerkow, Jo Gordon, Emily O’Rourke and Jack Gothorp. I would also like to acknowledge our youngest volunteers Morgan Wood and Scarlett Sharples who helped with medal presentations.
