Paddle Queensland is encouraging members from across the Queensland paddling community to consider applying for the newly established Discipline Technical Committee (DTC).
This is an exciting opportunity for passionate and experienced members of the paddling community to help shape the future of paddlesports within the State.
As Paddle Queensland continues to deliver the Paddle Forward 2032 strategy, the establishment of the Discipline Technical Committee represents an important step in creating greater alignment, collaboration and opportunities across all paddlesports disciplines including Canoe Slalom, Canoe Sprint, Paracanoe, Canoe Marathon, Ocean Racing, Canoe Polo, Freestyle, Wildwater, SUP, Waveski Surfing, Outrigger Canoe, Sea Kayaking and recreational paddling.
The Committee’s will play an important role in supporting the development of participation pathways, clubs, events and membership opportunities, while ensuring each discipline is represented with a strong focus on culture, integrity, inclusion and community connection.
The DTC will work collaboratively with Paddle Queensland, Clubs, volunteers and stakeholders across the paddling ecosystem to support the long-term sustainability and success of the discipline.
Paddle Queensland is seeking individuals who bring:
- A genuine passion for paddlesports
- A strong commitment to community and member development
- Experience in paddling, club leadership, coaching, officiating, event delivery, governance or administration
- A collaborative and constructive approach to committee participation
- Alignment with the principles of integrity, inclusion and good governance
Appointments will be for a two-year term, providing successful applicants with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the future direction of paddlesports in Queensland.
Submitting an Expression of Interest
Expressions of Interest should include:
- A brief personal statement outlining your interest in contributing to the development of paddlesports within Queensland
- A summary of your relevant experience
- The skills, perspective or expertise you would bring to the Committee
EOIs should be no more than two pages and accompanied by a brief sporting or professional resume.
